As part of The Word of God, The Warhol is presenting an ongoing series of public dialogues and gallery talks by various scholars, community activists, artists, and religious leaders. The goals of these programs are to provide context for the artist’s work and to spark dialogue about the issues raised in each exhibition. On April 19, 2011, Scilla Wahrhaftig will join Maritza Mosquera in a public dialogue about the issues raised in Sandow Birk’s American Qur’an.

The dialogue facilitators are Scilla Wahrhaftig, the Programs Director for the American Friends Service Committee Pennsylvania Office, a Quaker organization that works world-wide on peace and justice issues.  She has been trained in conflict resolution, mediation and dialogue. Martiza Mosquera is an artist, educator and community partnerships specialist who develops and presents new practices in arts education and artist-led community collaborations with national and international organizations.
