As part of The Word of God, The Warhol is presenting an ongoing series of public dialogues and gallery talks by various scholars, community activists, artists and religious leaders. The goals of these programs are to provide context for the artist’s work and to spark dialogue about the issues raised in each exhibition. On April 9, 2011, Karen Hussaini will discuss Islamic art and its development with in Islamic culture as it relates to Sandow Birk’s American Qur’an.

Karen Hussaini is the President of the SFH Islamic Interfaith Network. She and her late husband, Farooq Hussaini, have devoted themselves to building understanding and respect between faith communities through dialog, activity and education. After Farooq’ s untimely death, Karen, along with a group of dedicated individuals, formed the SFH Islamic Interfaith Network in an effort to carry on his work.  The organization supports efforts and activities aimed at educating and building relationships between communities and individuals.
