Past Event Sound Series: Matmos with special guest Jeff Carey
We welcome back the genre-defying, sonic experimentalists, Matmos (M.C. Schmidt and Drew Daniel), who make music out of the sounds of objects, animals, people, and actions. They have collaborated with a wide array of artists including Rachel’s, So Percussion, Nico Muhly, Alter Ego, People Like Us, Kronos Quartet, and Bjork. They will return to our intimate theater on a tour supporting their latest album Regards/Ukłony dla Bogusław Schaeffer via Thrill Jockey. Inspired by the Polish experimental composer Bogusław Schaeffer, the album features contributions from harpist Úna Monaghan, multi-instrumentalist Ulas Kurugullu, electronic artist Will Schorre and Horse Lords’ Max Eilbach. A solo performance by Jeff Carey will open the evening.
Doors open at 7 p.m.
