We welcome Memphis-based singer/songwriter, Julien Baker to the Carnegie Lecture Hall. Her second album, Turn Out the Lights, was released in the fall of 2017 on Matador Records, and has received many accolades, particularly for how directly and boldly it illuminates complex and conflicted issues around drug addiction and growing up gay in a southern Christian family and conservative culture. According to a recent New Yorker review, listening to her music makes you feel like “an interloper, eavesdropping on someone else’s prayers.” Tancred (aka Jess Abbott) opens the evening.
Doors open at 7 p.m.
