Sound Series: Dean Wareham

Thursday, June 12, 2025, 8 p.m.

A person in a bright yellow shirt and silver-framed glasses stands between a black gate and a textured wall, looking into the camera under a canopy of green foliage.

We welcome back Dean Wareham (Galaxie 500, Luna, Dean & Britta) on a tour supporting his fourth solo album, That’s the Price of Loving Me, on Carpark Records, though the career-spanning set will also include some Galaxie 500 and Luna songs. It‘s his first album with producer Kramer since Galaxie 500’s This Is Our Music (1990), and it was recorded in six days in Los Angeles. It features eight new songs, drawing on influences such as Bacharach, Gainsbourg, and Norma Tanega plus covers of Nico and Mayo Thompson. Wareham and Britta Phillips were featured in The Warhol’s commissioned film/music project, 13 Most Beautiful: Songs for Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests, which premiered in 2008 and has toured internationally.

  • Doors open at 7 p.m.
