Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips aka Dean & Britta
Presented by The Warhol & The Carnegie Museum of Art
The Warhol welcomes back our friends Dean & Britta for the first presentation at the Carnegie Lecture Hall (Oakland), through a new collaborative series with the Carnegie Museum of Art. While Dean & Britta have been touring nationally and internationally for the past two years with 13 Most Beautiful: Songs for Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests (a project commissioned by The Warhol and The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust), Dean also decided to delve into the back catalog of his seminal first band, Galaxie 500, to develop a full set that has been played at just a handful of venues thus far in the U.S. to rave reviews. The dynamic power-pop trio, Meeting of Important People, open with an acoustic set of new material.
“Galaxie 500 became bona fide treasures of indie rock.” – Mojo
This performance is co-presented with The Carnegie Museum of Art and WYEP Presents
This event is not occuring at The Andy Warhol Museum but at the Carnegie Lecture Hall (Oakland).
