We welcome back the contemporary jazz virtuoso guitarist Julian Lage for an intimate solo performance at the Carnegie Lecture Hall. On a tour supporting his latest two albums, The Layers and View with a Room, on Blue Note Records, Lage has become, according to the New Yorker, of the “highest category of improvising musicians”. And according to a recent Guardian review Lage is “a masterful player, alternating careful, detailed lines with bursts of dexterous improvisation”. His latest album was produced by singer-songwriter, Margaret Glaspy, and other frequent collaborators include John Zorn, Bill Frisell and Nels Cline. Songwriter Elijah Wolf opens the evening.
