The Andy Warhol Museum, Braddock Carnegie Library and Levis Workshops are presenting the free event “Library POP” on September 25, 2010 from 1-4pm. The goal of the event is to celebrate the Braddock Library and the many programs it offers the community.
Warhol Museum education staff along with Transformazium, a neighborhood screen printing shop located in the library, will be presenting printmaking projects in multiple locations though out the building. Two highlights of the event are the unveiling of the permanent installation of Andy Warhol’s Cow and Self Portrait Wallpaper and the start of the Library’s $5 Campaign.
The $5 campaign is based on a state-wide standard requiring libraries to raise $5 per constituent to be eligible for state funding. The Braddock Carnegie Library serves 5 different municipalities. The Braddock Carnegie Library is NOT part of the Carnegie Library System. While its municipalities support it as best they can, it is not a municipally-funded library.
It is crucial to the future of our library that we reach our fundraising goal of $91,425 (18,285 constituents @ $5). With each of us contributing $5, we can make this happen!
