The Warhol is pleased to welcome back the famously nonconformist, defiantly idiosyncratic American screen actor Crispin Glover, whose many film credits include the notable likes of River’s Edge, Back to the Future, Dead Man, The Doors, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, Wild at Heart, Willard, The People vs. Larry Flynt — and, recently, the popular hits Hot Tub Time Machine and (Tim Burton’s) Alice in Wonderland.
On Saturday, February 11, Mr. Glover will present his debut feature as a director, What Is It? (2005), a surreal, taboo-obliterating phantasmagoria and psychodrama certain not to disappoint fans of Mr. Glover’s offbeat, hermetic sensibilities or devotees of over-the-top cinema and midnight cult-movies. The screening will be preceded by Crispin Hellion Glover’s Big Slide Show Part 1, a live one hour performance by Glover in which he narrates from eight of his profusely illustrated books while images from them are projected behind him.” Following the screening will be a Q&A session, moderated by Mr. Glover himself, and a book signing and autograph session, with Mr. Glover’s books available for sale in the lobby.
This event is complemented by a second — Crispin Hellion Glover Live with his Big Slide Show Part 2 and film It is fine! EVERYTHING IS FINE (2007) on Friday, February 10, 2012. Tickets for each event must be purchased separately.
