6:00pm-7:30pm Symposium Session, An Introduction to Microtonal Music (Historical Issues):
Frank J. Oteri (Editor, NewMusicBox) will speak about the historical development of the American Microtonal School.
Robert Hasegawa (McGill University) will speak about music in the US and Europe that uses hybrid tuning systems
8:00pm Ray-Kallay Duo will perform Enno Pope’s Rad, as well as works by Eric Moe (premiere), Frank J. Oteri, Kyle Gann, among others. Flux Quartet and Mantra Percussion will perform a new work by Mathew Rosenblum, written for FLUX Quartet and Mantra Percussion together (premiere). Alia Musica will perform Nach-Ruf…entgleitend by Georg Friedrich Haas.
