Sound Series: The Low Anthem

Friday, March 23, 2018, 8 p.m.

A group of four people sitting in a transit vehicle of some sort. They are sitting on one long, blue seat that's attached to the blue walls. There is a giant window behind them. On the left is a woman with short, brown hair wearing a red sweater, blue coat and khaki pants. She's leaning forward and looking at the camera. The man next to her has long, blonde hair and brown and gray facial hair. He is wearing a brown scarf, black sweater and blue jeans. He's holding a black and brown acoustic guitar. The man to the right of him has short, black hair and is wearing black-framed glasses. He's wearing a gray sweatshirt and black pants and is holding a group of yellow vegetables of some sort. The man to the right of him has short, blonde hair that is under an orange and brown knit cap he is wearing on his head. He is wearing a brown sweater and gray pants.

We welcome The Low Anthem from Providence, RI to the museum’s intimate theater, on a tour supporting their fifth studio album. Coming off a recent tour with Lucinda Williams, the band continues to hone their handmade aesthetic and warmly crafted songs, often involving non-traditional instruments. The band were the recipients of Mojo Magazine’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award in 2010 and have toured extensively throughout the US, UK, and Europe.
