Good Fridays Every Friday from 5 to 10 pm. Cover charge is half-price regular Museum admission. For a more social experience, the Museum is open late with a cash bar in the entrance gallery and special programs listed on our calendar. |
| The Weekend Factory The Weekend Factory, every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 pm. provides opportunities for visitors of all ages to experiment with materials, techniques and themes used by Warhol. Based on an experience with original works of art, visitors work in small, informal groups to explore Warhol's techniques. The Weekend Factory is recommended for adults, teens and children over five years old. Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Film Series: Unseen Treasures from the George Eastman House – DuBarry, Woman of Passion (1930) Dir. Sam Taylor. 77 min., sound. With Norma Talmadge, Conrad Nagel, William Farnum, Hobart Bosworth, Allison Skipworth, Ullrich Haupt. This film is a lavish biography of Jeanne Bécu, comtesse du Barry, the illegitimately-born beauty who became Louis XV of France’s official mistress before she met her end on the guillotine. She’s portrayed by American film star Norma Talmadge in her second sound feature and the last film of her career. The film features impressive sets by art director William Cameron Menzies. The film will be introduced by archivist Benjamin Tucker of the George Eastman House. Tickets $10 |

Opening Celebration: Shepard Fairey: Supply and Demand is organized by The Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston and features over 20 years of the artist’s work, including illustrations, screen prints, collages, works of wood, metal, and canvas. SuperTrash features 150 film posters, ranging from ephemera to giant 3-sheets, representing the 1940’s – ‘80’s. Unnatural Rubber, sponsored by the LANXESS Corporation, showcases the work of 15 contemporary international artists to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the invention of synthetic rubber. |

Sound Series: Osso, with Sufjan Steven’s film The BQE String quartet with a modernist pulse, members of the New York- and Berlin-based Osso have collaborated and performed with an array of artists and genres, including Jay-Z, Alice and Ravi Coltrane, The New Pornographers, Antony and the Johnsons, The Polyphonic Spree, The National, Devotchka and Kanye West. Their performance of interpretations of Sufjan Stevens’ electronica album Enjoy Your Rabbit—each song named for a year of the Chinese zodiac—recomposes computer keystrokes into rhythmic classical arrangements, bridging the drama of experimental electronica, indie rock and the nuance of chamber harmonies. Sound Series: Harper Simon Join us for another intimate evening in the Warhol Theater as we welcome for his Pittsburgh debut, Harper Simon, the son of the legendary, Paul Simon, who is on tour supporting his solo debut and self-titled record. With an airy voice that is strikingly similar to his father on early Simon and Garfunkel records, this initial release is filled with well-crafted pop/folk tunes that were recorded with a stellar A-List of Nashville session players and produced by the infamous Bob Johnston, who has worked with Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and Leonard Cohen, just to name a few. OFF THE WALL: David Cale: Palomino Palamino, David Cale’s new solo show, is a sensuous tale told from six perspectives, focusing on the adventures of an enigmatic, Irish horse-drawn carriage driver in New York City’s Central Park, who moonlights as an escort for wealthy women. Cale is the author and performer of six nationally acclaimed solo shows, a lyricist for The Jazz Passengers, and has appeared in several feature films.
